Susan Godman Rager received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. During law school, she also spent a summer abroad studying law at the University of Cambridge.

Undergraduate studies (English, Honors) were completed at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and she earlier earned an Associate of Arts degree from Averett University, Danville, in Commercial
Art/Graphic Design.

Her professional corporation, Susan Godman Rager, P.C., was established in 1990. She is a member of the bar in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the State of Maryland, and the District of Columbia,  and is admitted to state and federal courts. The law office is located on Highway 687 (Old Post Office Lane)
in Historic Downtown Coles Point, Westmoreland County, in Virginia's Northern Neck (see directions).

Rager is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society, as well as several voluntary bar associations, including the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is Past President of the President of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, which includes the Counties of Hanover, Caroline, Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, Westmoreland, Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster, Essex and the City of Fredericksburg.

OFFICE RELOCATION:Prior to January 2008,  the Law Office was located on Hwy 612 (Coles Point Road) in Historic Downtown Coles Point, Virginia, adjoining Allen's Oyster House. As of January 2008, the Law Office is now
located on Hwy 687, (Old Post Office Lane)  a "huge move" of two doors away. (map)(directions). See some of the new office below:

BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE LAW OFFICE OF SUSAN GODMAN RAGER,P.C.:

  • Areas of concentration in this law practice: 85% criminal defense, including traffic, 12% family law (custody, support and visitation), 3% general practice. The 12% family law does not include divorce/separation. The 3% includes land use issues and the preparation of simple wills, but does not include civil litigation, personal injury, Social Security disability, worker's compensation claims, bankruptcy, divorce, admiralty or patent law matters. The areas of concentration (criminal defense, traffic, custody, support and visitation) allow a focus on trial law which actually makes it to the courtroom; many other areas of law rarely do.
