Susan Godman Rager received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.  During law school, she also spent a summer abroad studying law at the University of Cambridge. Undergraduate studies (English, Honors) were completed at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and she earlier earned an Associate of Arts degree from Averett University, Danville, in Commercial Art/Graphic Design.  Her professional corporation, Susan Godman Rager, P.C., was established in 1990. She is a member of the bar in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the State of Maryland, and the District of Columbia, and has been admitted to state and federal courts. The law office is located on Highway 687 (Old Post Office Lane) in Historic Downtown Coles Point, Westmoreland County, in Virginia's Northern Neck (see directions).

Rager is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society, as well as several voluntary bar associations, and is Past President of the President of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, which includes the Counties of Hanover, Caroline, Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, Westmoreland, Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster, Essex and the City of Fredericksburg.
